Glass: A Classic Choice
Glass is a traditional material for essential oil packaging due to its high chemical stability; it does not react with essential oils, effectively preserving their purity and aroma. Transparent glass also allows consumers to see the color and condition of the essential oils, increasing trust. However, glass is fragile and heavy, requiring extra care during transportation and handling.
Plastic: Lightweight and Practical
Plastic packaging boxes are favored for their lightweight, shock resistance, and lower cost. Common plastic materials include PET and HDPE, which offer good sealing properties to prevent essential oil evaporation. However, some plastics may slightly dissolve after prolonged contact with essential oils; therefore, the oil resistance of the material should be considered when choosing.
Metal: High-End Protection
Metal packaging boxes (such as aluminum) completely isolate light and air, making them ideal for light-sensitive essential oils. Metal boxes also have high mechanical strength, effectively protecting the contents. However, metal boxes are more expensive, and the lack of visibility of the essential oils inside may influence consumer purchasing decisions.
